Farmington- Irwin “Les” Ward, 72, a resident of Fayette and formerly of Leeds, passed away peacefully, Thursday, December 27th at Sandy River Center in Farmington. He was born December 13, 1946, in Lewiston, the son of Charlotte (Holt) Draper and Irvin Towle Ward. He attended school in Leeds and graduated from Monmouth Academy in 1964. On August 7, 1965 he married Andrea Burgess in Monmouth. They were married for 45 years before her passing on November 15, 2010. Irwin worked at the Winthrop Water District for many years and later worked as an electrician for Don’s Electric in Monmouth. He was an active member of the Leeds Nazarene Church and in recent years attended the Fayette Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and loving his guinea pigs. He is survived by his daughters; Lisa Freeman and her husband Glenn of Fayette, Vicky Brents and her husband Rodney of Richmond and Amy Brooks and her husband Mark of Farmingdale, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and his brothers; Arlando Ward of Oklahoma and Peter Draper of Farmington. He was predeceased by his mother Charlotte Draper, stepfather, Linwood Draper his wife Andrea Ward and grandson Dustin Michael.
