South Paris- Warren G. “Jake” Enos, 94, a former resident of Livermore, passed away Wednesday morning, October 31st, 2018, at Maine Veteran’s Home is South Paris. He was born August 16, 1924, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, the son of Claude and Lydia (Walford) Enos. He attended Leavitt Institute in 1940 and later graduated from Leavitt High School in 2001. On February 22, 1949, he married Ruth Wilkins in Oxford. They were married for 58 years before her passing on September 21, 2007. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII as a PFC in the 7th Reg. 3rd, INF DIV. He served in North Africa and Italian Theater of Operation, receiving his Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal the WWII Victory Medal and Combat Infantryman and Expert Infantryman Badges. He also served in Azio, Sturno and Cortina, Italy. He worked for the Oxford Paper Company and for Boise Cascade as a power plant lead operator, for 39 years, before retiring in 1986. He was a Past Master of the Whitney Masonic Lodge # 167 in Canton for 50 years, a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He is survived by his sister in laws Ethelyn Enos of Florida and Thelma Waite of Turner and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth, his brothers; Elmer, James, Marshall, Clayton and Carlton Enos and his sisters Mildred Saenger and Marsha Corette. Family and Friends are invited to join the family at the VFW Post # 3335, Jewell Street, Jay, Maine, immediately following the funeral service. Visitation will be held Saturday from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Members of the Masonic Lodge will meet at the funeral home at 6PM to do their services.
