Elmer "Unc" Nichols
Elmer “Unc” Nichols, 75, a resident of Minot, formerly of Fayette, passed away Tuesday, June 5th at Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn, following a brief illness with his family by his side. He was born October 30, 1942 in East Livermore, the son of Harry H. Nichols and Clara B. (Robinson) Nichols. He attended Livermore Falls High School. On March 1, 1964 in East Auburn he married his wife of 54 years, Rita P. Paradie. Through the years, Elmer worked as a custodian for Livermore Falls School District, a Constable for the Town of Fayette, Livermore Falls Police, and retired from Cole Hahn Shoe. He was a member of the Blistered Fingers Club, and the Rainbow Riders Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed going to the Blues Festivals, playing guitar, riding his motorcycle and loved kids, including his nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved dog “Jake”. He is survived by his wife, Rita Nichols, son, Jeff Nichols and his wife Sue all of Minot, two granddaughters, Hillary and Madison Lewis of Woolwich, sisters, Mabel Soucy of West Paris and Kay Williams and her husband Roger, Sr. of Farmington, brother-in-law, Robert Paradie and companion Aurie Cox and his sister-in-law, Shirley Hersey of Turner.
