Obituary for Orman C. Wilkins

Orman C. Wilkins
Orman C. Wilkins, 84, a resident of Livermore Falls, passed away Monday, June 4th at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 12, 1933 in Livermore, the son of Earl Wilkins and Helen (Norton) Wilkins. He was a 1952 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. On April 16, 1960, in Weld, he married his wife of 56 years, Jane Medeiros. She passed away April 30, 2016. After Jane’s passing, Orman was left with a huge emptiness. Orman and Jane made their home welcome to everyone; family, friends and neighbors, and although Orman still enjoyed his visitors, Jane’s absence left a void. Orman worked all his life as a self-employed logging contractor and enjoyed his hobby of raising beef cattle with Herefords being his favorite. He loved watching the horse pulling at the local county fairs, his John Deere equipment, old country music, and most of all his home and his family. Orman will be remembered as thinking of everyone else before himself, being very respectful and kind hearted, laughing easily, and a hard worker who protected and provided for his family. He was a good listener, he enjoyed the simple things in life and was known for his favorite phrase “It’s a Peach of a Day”. He is survived by his son Derek Wilkins of Livermore Falls; his daughter, Donna Flint and her husband Joseph of Winthrop; and his one and only grandchild, Rachel Labbe (The Special One) and her companion Justin Ames of Danvers, Massachusetts; brothers, Bernyl Wilkins and wife Glennys of Auburn; Alton Wilkins and wife Cynthia of Livermore Falls; Hersey Wilkins and wife Jeannine of Livermore Falls; sisters, Beryl Griffin of Storrs, Connecticut; Vivian Fuller of Jay; Claire Flagg of Livermore Falls; and Marcia Hamblin and husband Ed of Livermore; his sisters-in-law, Arlene Wilkins and companion Tom Randall and Ella Wilkins all of Livermore Falls, also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife and brothers Colby, Clayton “Thurlow” and Merton Wilkins. His family would like to thank Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, because of them he was able to fulfill his wishes and return to his home for his final days.
