Joan F. Bailey, 74, a resident of Livermore Falls, passed away, Saturday, June 2nd at Maine Medical Center in Portland following a brief illness. She was born April 6, 1944 in Fayette, the daughter of Joel Bushie, Sr. and Dorothy (Burnie) Bushie. Joan was a 1963 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. In 1969 in Fayette, she married Gerald Damren, he passed away in 2000. She worked as a nurse assistant, later at Livermore Falls Shoe, and then worked as owner operator of D & J Associates Trash Removal Service until her retirement. She was a former member of the Red Hats. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing and braiding rugs, and made a rug for many of her family members. Joan loved being out in nature, traveling and trips to the coast, but above all else, she especially loved time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her companion of 10 years, Bruce Kendall of Livermore Falls, her daughter, Angela Pomerleau and fiancé, Ben Turcotte of Leeds, granddaughter, Christina Damren of Turner, grandsons, Dillon and Daniel McIntosh, great-grandchildren, Dakota Damren, Brianna Hallowell, Charles Damren, Jr., Gregory and Bradley Damren and two foster grandchildren, three sisters, June Glover of Augusta, Mary Walsh and husband Gerald of Florida, and Jean Gray and her husband Robert Fayette, and brother-in-law, James Kennison of Livermore.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Gerald Damren, her son, James Bushie, daughter, Joy Ackerman, grandson, Charles Damren, great-grandson, Karter Harvey, brothers, John and Joel Bushie, Jr., and her sister, Jolene Kennison. Messages of condolence may be sent to: www.finleyfuneralhome.com
