The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Richard Lapointe can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: I am so sorry for the loss of your son. His bright smile lights up the page. I don't know you or your son but my heart breaks for you and your family. When you are ready, I would invite you to attend a meeting of The Compassionate Friends, a support group for parents and grandparents who have lost a child. We meet every second Wednesday at the D'Youville Pavilion in Lewiston from 6:00 to 8:00. There is no grief that can compare to that of losing a child and we at TCF are all on the same grief journey. Feel free to call at 364-8809 with questions or just to talk.

Condolence: My heart goes out to the Lapointe family and friends of Richard in your time of sorrow. I know Richard has left you with many precious memories from his 21 way too short years with you all. When death robs us of someone we love very much, it causes much sadness and grief. Jesus with the help of Jehovah (Psalms 83:18) God promises the only one who does not lie (Titus1:2) that we will see Richard and our loved ones again by means of a resurrection (John 5:28, 29). I hope the Lapointe family will find some comfort and strength in Jesus promise of the earthly resurrection. Our loving heavenly Father, "Jehovah (Psalm 83:18) is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18) Isaiah 33:24 guarantees us: "And no resident will say "I am sick," ever again. Revelations 21: 4 says: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." The Lapointe family is in my prayers and I offer my heartfelt condolences. For more comforting and encouraging scriptures on the resurrection, please visit
